Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Masdar have signed a three-year agreement that deepens their collaboration and reinforces the UAE’s drive toward a cleaner, more sustainable global energy future.
The partnership appoints Dewa as the ADSW Summit Partner and names Masdar as the Principal Sponsor for Wetex. The agreement was signed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa, and Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar.
Both organisations plan to align their strengths to support Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition. Their aim is to fast track progress in renewable energy, clean technology, and knowledge exchange within the UAE and beyond.
The move supports national strategies including the UAE Net Zero by 2050 initiative and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which targets 100 percent clean energy generation in Dubai by mid-century.
Al Tayer highlighted the importance of continued cooperation, noting that the partnership strengthens efforts to showcase the UAE’s growing influence in the global energy sector and support innovation across environmental, social, and economic spheres.
Al Ramahi said the agreement reflects a long standing collaboration between Dewa and Masdar and emphasised the need for bold action as the global energy landscape undergoes rapid change. He added that combining expertise will help both entities achieve greater impact.
The collaboration is expected to elevate the content and global reach of ADSW and Wetex, foster stronger public and private sector engagement, and attract investment in clean energy solutions.
Both events have grown into influential platforms for sharing insights, exploring emerging technologies, and identifying opportunities that advance the region’s leadership in the global energy transition.
