Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Project Management Institute (PMI) have reinforced their commitment to enhancing project management excellence and sustainability.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, met with Pierre Le Manh, President and CEO of PMI, to discuss strategic collaborations aimed at driving innovation and efficiency in project execution.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the significance of fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. They explored ways to leverage PMI’s global expertise in project management to further DEWA’s sustainability initiatives.
Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s dedication to pioneering projects that align with Dubai’s vision for a sustainable future. He also reflected on the fruitful partnership between DEWA and PMI, which began in 2010. From an initial offering of three courses, their collaboration has expanded to 18 specialized project management training programs, covering topics such as agility and artificial intelligence (AI).
By the end of 2024, 280 DEWA employees had earned the prestigious Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, with an additional 120 obtaining other PMI certifications. In 2025, DEWA plans to introduce new training courses focusing on construction management, AI applications in project management, and agility-driven methodologies.
Pierre Le Manh praised DEWA’s leadership in the global energy sector, commending its commitment to sustainability and knowledge-sharing. He expressed enthusiasm for continued collaborations that will drive impactful and sustainable outcomes in project management.
