Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has introduced the ‘Legislation Agent’, an artificial intelligence-powered system designed to enhance the protection and governance of its general network.
The AI-driven tool delivers instant guidance to users and supports swift, informed decision-making on network safety and compliance with both local and international standards. It is part of DEWA’s broader push to integrate advanced technologies into its operational framework.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said the Legislation Agent is a key step in streamlining internal processes.
“It provides a unified digital reference for all regulations related to DEWA’s operations, reduces decision-making time, and improves work outcomes,”
he noted.
Developed jointly by DEWA’s Innovation and the Future Division and the Legal Affairs Department, the system analyses regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance and improve readiness across technical and operational fronts. Its proactive capabilities allow for faster response times in complex scenarios, contributing to greater efficiency across the authority’s services.
This launch underscores DEWA’s commitment to leveraging AI to drive innovation and improve utility governance in line with Dubai’s smart city ambitions.
