Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has become the first government entity and utility worldwide to offer its services via the ChatGPT Apps Directory, marking a major step in integrating artificial intelligence into public service delivery.
The move positions Dubai at the forefront of AI-driven innovation and redefines how residents interact with government services.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, described the initiative as a pivotal step in reshaping service delivery in the AI era. He explained that it moves beyond traditional websites and apps, offering a comprehensive system accessible through intelligent conversational platforms and multi-agent AI systems.
The integration allows customers to access a wide range of services efficiently, including bill inquiries, account management, EV Green Charger locations, and details on Customer Happiness Centres, including working hours and contact information. DEWA plans to expand the services gradually, ensuring alignment with governance, security, and privacy standards.
Al Tayer emphasized that the launch reinforces DEWA’s role in adopting advanced smart solutions and delivering resilient, proactive, and secure services. He noted that the initiative enhances the customer experience while supporting Dubai’s ambition to become a global hub for AI and sustainable innovation.
By leveraging AI platforms like ChatGPT, DEWA aims to provide seamless, fast, and user-friendly service access, demonstrating how technology can transform public utilities and government engagement in the digital age.
