Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) ushered in 2025 with a forward-looking strategy to integrate generative artificial intelligence (AI) across its operational processes and services.
In a launch event attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, alongside senior leadership, the utility revealed its roadmap for leveraging Microsoft Copilot as part of its broader digital transformation agenda.
Al Tayer emphasized DEWA’s commitment to aligning with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, aimed at bolstering the nation's global competitiveness.

Al Tayer stated, highlighting the organization's continuous pursuit of global technological advancements.
The strategic framework, which includes tools like Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft 365 Copilot, is set to improve operational efficiency, boost customer satisfaction, and further establish DEWA as a leader in government tech innovation. DEWA has been a trailblazer in AI adoption since 2017, with notable initiatives such as ChatGPT integration and its virtual employee Rammas, enhancing customer interactions.
Generative AI will now extend into critical areas including security, human resources, financial data management, and more. Additionally, platforms like Rammas for You and Rammas for Work will enhance employee and customer experiences.
This initiative underscores DEWA’s relentless pursuit of innovation, contributing to Dubai's vision of becoming a global leader in technology and sustainability.
