Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been named ‘Organisation of the Year for Youth Empowerment in the Public & Government Sector’ at the GCC GOV HR and Youth Empowerment Summit & Awards 2025, recognising its leadership in nurturing young talent and fostering innovation across the region.
The award highlights DEWA’s continued efforts to empower youth through targeted initiatives in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. These programmes aim to equip young professionals with the skills and opportunities needed to contribute to Dubai’s long-term growth and the UAE’s wider development goals.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, said the recognition reflects the organisation’s commitment to building a generation of future leaders who drive innovation, climate action, and the pursuit of net-zero ambitions.
Al Tayer also commended DEWA’s Youth Council for its role in creating platforms for engagement and leadership development among Emirati youth. The council has launched several initiatives to strengthen participation in sustainability-focused projects and enhance the capabilities of young professionals in the public sector.
He added that the award is a testament to the collective dedication of DEWA employees and their shared vision of empowering youth as catalysts for innovation and government excellence.
