Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)'s Youth Council organized the "Youth Forum" in celebration of International Youth Day 2024, observed annually on 12th August.
The forum, inaugurated by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, featured a series of activities and panel discussions involving young employees and representatives from local and corporate youth councils, including the Dubai Youth Council, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority Youth Council, the Community Development Authority Youth Council, and the Du Youth Council.
In his opening remarks, Al Tayer highlighted the UAE and Dubai's leadership in empowering youth and enhancing their involvement in advanced and promising sectors. He emphasized DEWA's commitment to developing the capabilities of the next generation, encouraging them to create sustainable solutions to address climate change and prepare for the future.
Al Tayer noted that DEWA's workforce includes 2,831 young employees aged between 18 and 35 years, with 2,062 being young male and female Emiratis. He urged young people to take full advantage of DEWA's various programs to enhance their skills in sustainability and clean and renewable energy.
The forum underscored DEWA's dedication to empowering youth as key drivers of positive change and contributors to a brighter and more sustainable future, aligning with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who views youth as the nation's greatest asset and a vital investment in the future.
