Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Youth Council, in collaboration with Skill Lab, organized a Skills Day event to commemorate World Youth Skills Day 2024 on 15th July.
The event, attended by 55 young DEWA employees, aligned with the National Youth Agenda 2031, which focuses on empowering youth and enhancing their skills.
The Skills Day featured technical workshops aimed at developing the competencies of DEWA’s young workforce in various fields.
Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, DEWA’s Youth Council President, emphasized the organization's commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
“We support DEWA’s efforts to encourage youth to unleash their skills and creativity, providing them opportunities to innovate, excel, and gain new experiences,”
she stated. Alremeithi highlighted the Council's strategy focusing on five pillars: values, national identity, continuous education, professional development, future accelerators, and innovation.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative. Fatma Hassan Mohammad Ahli, Senior Engineer - Network Study – Power & Water Planning, said,
“The workshops help young employees discover their talents and share their experiences, showcasing their excellence.”
Aliya Mohammed AlMehairi, Senior Accounts Officer – Finance, noted,
“DEWA supports our growth by organizing activities that expand our knowledge and skills.”
Sultan Bader Hussian Abdulla Albahri, Engineer - Distribution Inspection - Distribution Power, added,
“The diverse activities organized by DEWA’s Youth Council provide us with skills that are beneficial both personally and professionally.”
The event underscored DEWA’s dedication to developing its young employees, ensuring they are well-equipped to contribute to the organization’s global excellence and leadership.
