DEWA’s Youth Council Wins Best National Government Youth Council Award 2025
In a significant milestone for youth empowerment, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Youth Council was honored with the Best National Government Youth Council 2025 Award.
The award, presented by the Federal Youth Authority, recognizes the Council's pioneering role in supporting the youth and fostering their development.
The award was presented in the presence of HE Sultan Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. Al Tayer congratulated the Youth Council, emphasizing that this achievement aligns with DEWA’s ongoing commitment to empowering young talent. He also credited the visionary leadership of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, for positioning the UAE as a global leader in youth development.
Al Tayer highlighted DEWA's significant efforts in nurturing young talent, noting that 25.7% of DEWA’s workforce consists of employees aged 18 to 35 years, with young employees holding 39% of supervisory roles. He stressed that these initiatives contribute directly to the UAE's National Youth Agenda 2031, which aims to develop Emirati youth into global leaders.
Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, President of DEWA’s Youth Council, expressed gratitude for the guidance from DEWA’s leadership. She also reflected on the Council's achievements, including organizing 77 events, 23 awareness sessions, and 8 educational trips since 2019. The Council’s initiatives and communication platforms have significantly contributed to DEWA’s youth engagement, with a 95% happiness rate among young employees.
This award marks a new chapter in DEWA’s dedication to developing the next generation of sustainability leaders.
