Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan Al Maktoum, Supreme President of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Hamdan Foundation.
The signing took place on the sidelines of the participation of both institutions in the 49th Arab Health Medical Expo at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The MoU aims to enhance relationships and exchange expertise in the fields of education, medical training, specialised research, excellence, and innovation.
The signing was attended by Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Director-General of the DHA, and Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General and Executive Director of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, along with other officials from both entities.
The MoU opens new horizons and creates opportunities for implementing joint projects and initiatives between DHA and the Foundation in the coming phase. It also includes exchanging expertise, knowledge transfer, organising conferences, seminars, scientific forums, and specialised training programs. This aligns with the priorities of the healthcare sector and the remarkable transformations and advancements it is undergoing.
It also stipulates the exchange of technical support and consultations, valuable publications, and opens the field for joint research and studies. It allows for the publication of successful research in journals issued by the DHA.
Following the signing, Awad Al Ketbi stated that the policy of DHA and its methodology involve openness to all distinguished local and global institutions and authorities. This serves the development of the healthcare sector and realises Dubai's aspirations to achieve a better health future for us and the coming generations.
He also affirmed that Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences is a national institution with a prominent role and remarkable achievements in the fields of medicine and education. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with this leading institution is poised to achieve many objectives that serve the healthcare system and also the research field, as the authority continuously seeks to elevate its standards.
Al Ketbi further emphasised the authority's appreciation for this collaboration, describing it as a fruitful cooperation and an important gateway to a strong partnership with the foundation. This partnership aims to achieve more ambitious initiatives, especially with the availability of the element of expertise for both parties.
Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi said,
“We are pleased to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Health Authority, which is one of the prestigious Emirati institutions dedicated to continuous development, offering high-quality healthcare services. The authority demonstrates foresight into the future, particularly in the fields of medical sciences and research. Moreover, we appreciate its commitment to forging partnerships with community institutions to establish an innovative and integrated healthcare services model.”
Dr. Al Suwaidi added that Hamdan Foundation continues the journey of its late founder, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and upholds its social responsibility towards the medical sector. This commitment is demonstrated through the launch of incentive awards, support for medical research, and the innovation of programmes aimed at driving institutional efforts towards achieving their goals.
Dr. Al Suwaidi emphasised that signing the MoU with DHA will support the goals of both parties and open avenues for cooperation in various areas related to health awareness, enriching medical research, and ensuring quality performance in this vital sector.
