The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has unveiled its strategic human resources (HR) plan for 2024-2026, a comprehensive initiative aimed at bolstering employee performance and fostering a forward-looking work environment across its affiliated zones.
Aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai among the top global cities in living standards, the strategy is built on five core pillars: investing in talent, creating an optimal work environment, boosting Emiratisation, adopting advanced systems, and utilizing human resources as catalysts for business innovation.
Chief People and Organisational Development Officer Yousuf Behzad emphasized DIEZ’s commitment to integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and modernizing HR systems. He highlighted the role of advanced AI solutions like Microsoft 365 Copilot to enhance daily operations and streamline services, enhancing productivity and operational efficiency for DIEZ employees and investors alike.
“Implementing AI is a top priority for DIEZ's HR department,”
Behzad noted,
“to improve service quality, speed, and efficiency while empowering UAE talents.”
A key focus of the plan is Emiratisation, with DIEZ aiming to elevate Emirati representation in leadership roles, currently at an 88 percent Emiratisation rate. The authority has recently appointed over 40 Emiratis and achieved a 98 percent employee retention rate, reflecting its commitment to career growth for UAE nationals.
In collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Dubai, DIEZ provides professional training and educational opportunities, further underlining its dedication to employee development. New initiatives also include a comprehensive rewards system, a graduate program, and health-focused programmes to enhance employee satisfaction, solidifying DIEZ’s role as a leading workplace within Dubai's vibrant economic ecosystem.
