Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has announced record financial and operational growth in 2024, reinforcing its contribution to Dubai’s economic development and aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, DIEZ achieved a 35.5% increase in net profit compared to 2023, alongside an 18.4% growth in revenue and a 7.8% rise in EBITDA.
The authority also saw a 9% increase in the number of registered companies within its economic zones—Dubai Airport Freezone, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Dubai CommerCity—serving as strategic hubs for businesses worldwide. Additionally, employment within these zones surged by 21%, surpassing 84,000 employees.
“These exceptional results reflect the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai among the world’s top three urban economies by 2033,”
said H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
“Our continued focus on innovation and digital transformation has proven successful in fostering economic growth and enhancing Dubai’s global competitiveness.”
Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, highlighted the authority’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and knowledge-driven growth. He also noted the achievements of subsidiary companies, including Tradeling Holding, which quadrupled its order volume since 2023, and Oraseya Capital, ranked the UAE’s most active investor in 2024 by MAGNiTT.
DIEZ continues to expand its influence across multiple sectors, with significant growth recorded in wholesale and retail (24%), professional and technical services (33%), finance and insurance (35%), and transportation and storage (33%). The authority’s contribution to Dubai’s GDP stood at 5.1% based on the latest statistics, further solidifying its role in the emirate’s economic progress.
