Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has posted robust growth for the first half of 2026, with rising occupancy, expanding company numbers and increased startup investment reinforcing Dubai's standing as a global business and innovation hub.

DIEZ's three zones, Dubai Airport Freezone, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai CommerCity, recorded a 96% occupancy rate during the period. The number of companies operating across these zones rose 13% year on year, while their combined workforce grew by 24%.

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of DIEZ, said the results reflect the resilience of the Authority's economic model and growing investor confidence in Dubai's business environment. He linked the performance to the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, and Dubai's ambition to rank among the world's top three urban economies.

Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, attributed the growth to an integrated ecosystem supporting companies from establishment through to expansion and investment. He said DIEZ would continue investing in digital transformation and artificial intelligence to enhance operational efficiency and attract high-value businesses.

During the period, DIEZ advanced major projects at Dubai Silicon Oasis, including District IO, an AED11 billion technology infrastructure development, and Block 14, a mixed-use community backed by AED1.8 billion and aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, with completion expected in 2029.

Oraseya Capital, DIEZ's investment arm, remained the UAE's most active venture investor for the third consecutive year, backing 15 startups in the first half, a 25% rise year on year, including proptech firm Takeem and AI-powered e-commerce platform Revora.

Meanwhile, Dtec saw new company registrations climb 57%, with AI-focused startups up 95%, underscoring rising demand for Dubai's technology entrepreneurship ecosystem.
