Digital Dubai recently hosted the highly anticipated “Digitalising Life” event on February 26-27, under the theme "Collaboration For Innovation."
The two-day workshop gathered top experts and decision-makers from both the public and private sectors, addressing key challenges and opportunities in the fast-paced digital transformation era. The event's primary focus was to expedite Dubai’s transition into a data-driven digital economy, ultimately boosting prosperity for businesses and individuals.
The workshop kicked off with a powerful keynote from Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai. Al Mansoori emphasized the importance of digital transformation in solidifying Dubai’s status as a global leader in innovation and technology. He also stressed the significance of Dubai’s cutting-edge digital infrastructure and the essential role of the private sector in driving this transformation.
On the first day, participants were introduced to the Digital Dubai Strategy, which focuses on digitalising life in the emirate. Key insights were shared regarding cloud adoption trends, AI integration in private sector businesses, and comprehensive digital transformation plans. The attendees worked in groups, addressing crucial areas like digital talent, infrastructure, and service transformation.
The second day encouraged collaboration between both sectors, exploring strategies for enhancing the data economy and digital city experiences. Discussions centered on cooperation, bridging gaps, and leveraging best practices to boost digital maturity. The event concluded with the announcement of a joint working group to develop future initiatives and projects, marking a renewed commitment to continuous collaboration.
Global insights were also shared, with Siim Sikkut, Estonia’s former Chief Information Officer, presenting Estonia’s successful digital transformation journey. The event reinforced the importance of public-private partnerships in shaping Dubai’s digital future.
