Switzerland has been officially announced as the Guest of Honour for the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD) 2025, recognizing its impactful contributions to global humanitarian efforts.
The announcement was made during a high-level meeting hosted by Arthur Mattli, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UAE and Bahrain, at the Swiss Residence on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. The event gathered ambassadors and representatives from diplomatic missions in the UAE, aiming to enhance collaboration in addressing global humanitarian challenges.
DIHAD 2025, themed “Humanitarian Aid and Development in a Polarised World,” will take place from April 29 to May 1, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. It will focus on rising humanitarian needs, the escalating impact of climate change, and funding shortages. Switzerland will showcase its innovative humanitarian solutions and initiatives at the Swiss Pavilion, reinforcing its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities worldwide.
Ambassador Mattli emphasized the need for unity amid global crises, stating,
“Humanitarian aid must rise above division, serving as a bridge that unites humanity and fosters true collaboration.”
Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, Chairman of DIHAD, highlighted the event as a crucial platform for exchanging expertise and advancing innovative solutions. Khaled Al-Attar, Director-General of DIHAD, reviewed the conference’s achievements, underscoring its role in global humanitarian efforts.
Supported by prominent organizations such as the UN, Emirates Red Crescent, and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, DIHAD continues to drive international cooperation to address pressing humanitarian issues.
