DIPW Launches Scientific Translation Workshop to Boost Arabic Scientific Content and Global Research Access
The Dubai International Program for Writing (DIPW), a key initiative by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), has launched a 'Scientific Translation' workshop aimed at increasing Arabic scientific content through translation.
The virtual workshop, supervised by Dr. Ghanim Al Samerrai, brought together 13 young translators to refine their skills in translating scientific research.
The workshop aligns with MBRF's goal of enriching Arabic scientific knowledge by facilitating the transfer of modern research to a broader audience. Dr. Al Samerrai emphasized the role of translation in making recent scientific studies accessible to Arab researchers, students, and institutions. He noted that scientific translation not only develops translators' skills but also bridges Arab academia with global scientific advancements.
The initiative also supports sustainable development by promoting evidence-based decision-making in key sectors such as health, education, and energy. Furthermore, the workshop fosters international collaboration in scientific research and ensures the preservation of knowledge by translating research into multiple languages.
This workshop is part of DIPW's broader effort to nurture young Arab talent, fostering a generation of creative writers and translators who contribute to the exchange of scientific and literary knowledge on a global scale.
