The 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest global event dedicated to the content creation economy, has announced Disney+ as a strategic partner for its fourth edition.

Organised by the UAE Government Media Office, the summit will take place from 9 to 11 January 2026 across Emirates Towers, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and the Museum of the Future, under the theme “Content for Good.”

The partnership reflects the summit’s objective of attracting major global companies to elevate standards in digital content creation and provide creators with direct access to international expertise. By collaborating with Disney+, the summit aims to help content creators expand their reach to global audiences and transform their work into sustainable income streams, supporting the UAE’s vision of becoming a global hub for digital media and the creative economy.

Tamim Fares, Director of Disney+ Middle East, said the company is proud to participate in the summit, highlighting the growing importance of content creation as a core pillar of the entertainment industry. He noted that creators play a critical role in shaping how audiences engage with stories and explained that the partnership would open new opportunities for Disney+ to collaborate with and support creators across the Middle East. The collaboration also reinforces Disney+’s commitment to developing culturally relevant content and nurturing the next generation of creative talent in the region.

Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and Director of the summit, said the partnership aligns with the summit’s mission to inspire emerging voices and support meaningful, purpose-driven content. She added that Disney+ brings valuable expertise in content production and talent development, which will help equip participants with tools and knowledge aligned with global standards.

The fourth edition builds on the success of the 2025 summit, which attracted more than 15,000 creators, 420 speakers, and 125 CEOs and global experts, generating over 1.5 billion digital interactions. The 2026 edition will also feature major initiatives, including a USD 1 million AI-generated film award and expanded funding support for creators and startups through dedicated accelerator programmes.
