DMCC AI Centre Partners with IBM Consulting to Drive AI Growth in Dubai
The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has announced IBM Consulting as an official partner for its AI Centre, a premier ecosystem designed to boost AI innovation and global expansion.
Since its launch in September, the DMCC AI Centre has rapidly grown, now supporting nearly 60 AI companies aiming to scale their operations globally from Dubai.
Through this partnership, IBM Consulting and DMCC will collaborate on various initiatives to advance the AI sector in Dubai, including thought leadership content, mentorship, industry conferences, and hackathons. The alliance builds on DMCC's commitment to nurturing a robust AI ecosystem, providing companies with resources for growth, skills development, and market entry.
IBM Consulting joins other strategic partners, including Builder.ai and AGCC, to offer a suite of services such as custom AI software development, accelerator programs, and networking opportunities. This partnership enhances the AI Centre’s offerings, equipping businesses with advanced technologies and collaborative opportunities to foster innovation.
The DMCC AI Centre’s recent success includes hosting the Global AI Competition – Sustainability Edition, in collaboration with AGCC and the Dubai Chamber. The competition, held at Expand North Star, awarded three winners with a total of $100,000 in prizes for their contributions to sustainable AI solutions.
Ahmed Hamza, Executive Director of DMCC’s Free Zone, expressed confidence in the Centre’s potential:
“USD15 trillion is set to be unlocked by AI by 2030, and DMCC is positioned to drive this growth.”
Bill Farrell, IBM Consulting’s Managing Partner for the Middle East and Africa, echoed this vision, emphasizing Dubai’s role as a global AI innovation hub.
Located in DMCC’s Uptown Tower, the AI Centre offers world-class facilities, including high-tech meeting spaces and an AI solutions showroom, establishing Dubai as a focal point for AI development.
