DMCC and Bybit Conclude Middle East’s Largest Web3 Hackathon

DMCC, Dubai's premier international business district, and global crypto exchange Bybit have successfully concluded the second edition of the Middle East's largest Web3 hackathon.

The event spotlighted groundbreaking innovations in the Web3 sector, attracting 15 of the world’s most forward-thinking startups to tackle challenges in tokenisation, AI, digital identity, and decentralised physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), among others.

With an enhanced prize pool of $160,000, the competition encouraged tangible solutions with real-world applications. Projects were judged on creativity, technical execution, practicality, business potential, and their ability to address genuine industry challenges.

The winners showcased remarkable ingenuity:

  • KelpMe: A blockchain-based solution for recovering private keys and misdirected transactions.
  • Trepa: A TON blockchain-powered Telegram app for secure, low-cost prediction pools.
  • Mavryk Network: A Layer 1 blockchain enhancing asset tokenisation and DeFi applications.
  • Hive: A platform leveraging home GPUs for compute sharing and democratising technology access.
  • Poppin: A browser extension enabling real-time social interactions on webpages.

Ahmed bin Sulayem, DMCC’s Executive Chairman, highlighted the event’s success in reinforcing Dubai’s leadership in Web3 innovation, stating,

“This hackathon demonstrates why Dubai continues to attract the best talent globally, fostering meaningful impact through practical applications.”

Bybit Co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou echoed this sentiment, praising the talent showcased and reaffirming Dubai’s role as a hub for Web3 innovation.
