DMCC, the world’s leading free zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade, recently wrapped up its inaugural Made for Trade Live roadshow in Yerevan, Armenia.
This significant event underscored a 20% increase in Armenian companies joining DMCC this year, reflecting the growing economic ties between the UAE and Armenia.
Armenia, a vital trade partner for the UAE, is the UAE’s largest trading partner in the GCC and its second-largest globally after Russia. The roadshow aimed to enhance business relations by showcasing Dubai’s strategic advantages, including its world-class infrastructure and business-friendly environment.
During the event, DMCC executives presented to 120 Armenian business leaders, highlighting Dubai's role as a global business hub and emphasizing the benefits of operating through DMCC.
H.E. Dr. Nariman Mohammed Sharif Abdulla Al Mulla, UAE Ambassador to Armenia, lauded the expanding collaboration, noting that Armenia's growing trade with the UAE offers substantial opportunities for Armenian businesses.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, emphasized the robust trade relationship, with bilateral trade reaching USD 2.8 billion in 2023—a fourfold increase from 2022. He highlighted the potential for further growth in sectors such as precious stones, metals, and digital services.
The event, organized in partnership with the UAE Embassy in Yerevan and the Armenian Businessmen Association, aligns with DMCC’s efforts to attract international businesses to Dubai. DMCC's roadshow program is instrumental in showcasing Dubai as a prime investment destination. In 2023, DMCC achieved its second-best year on record, adding nearly 2,700 new companies to its roster, which now includes almost 25,000 businesses globally.
