dnata has launched a centralised screening control room at its Dubai International Airport cargo facility, marking a significant advance in the digital transformation of air cargo security and operations through a partnership with Dubai Police.
The new high-tech command centre allows Dubai Police officers to remotely operate and monitor six X-ray screening machines from a single location within dnata’s warehouse at DXB. The system integrates with dnata’s One Cargo digital management platform, enabling real-time data sharing, faster decision-making, and streamlined workflows.
The initiative replaces a previously decentralised screening process that required multiple screening points across the warehouse. By consolidating operations into one hub, dnata has reduced screening time and improved cargo throughput by an estimated three percent annually.
Guillaume Crozier, Chief Cargo Officer at dnata, said the collaboration strengthens security while improving efficiency and reflects Dubai’s wider commitment to innovation through public and private partnerships.
dnata serves more than 120 airline customers and handles an average of 60,000 tonnes of cargo each month at its DXB facility. Earlier this year, the company reported processing more than one million tonnes of cargo between April 2024 and March 2025 across its DXB and DWC operations, representing year-on-year growth of around 30 percent.
The centralised control room features advanced monitoring interfaces, live imaging, and automated reporting tools that ensure full traceability throughout the screening process. The system also reduces manual handling, lowers unnecessary cargo movement within the facility, and supports more efficient fuel use.
The project forms part of dnata’s broader strategy to modernise cargo operations through automation, data analytics, and smart design, as the company continues to invest in technologies that enhance security, efficiency, and scalability across its Dubai operations.
