The Digital School, part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives, recently announced the success of its 'Donate Your Own Device' campaign.

This initiative, done in partnership with the Emirates Red Crescent, collected over 32,000 used electronic devices. These gadgets will be refurbished and recycled to aid underprivileged students worldwide, helping them access digital education. The campaign's achievements were announced on March 18th, which coincided with 'Global Recycling Day'. It highlights the UAE's commitment to achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals, promoting education, and preserving the environment through recycling.

The donated devices include computers, tablets, smartphones, screens, printers, and projectors. They will be refurbished or recycled responsibly to reduce electronic waste, which makes up a significant portion of toxic waste. Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, commended the campaign's success and emphasized the UAE's culture of giving and sustainability. The campaign saw significant support from various sectors, including government, private entities, and academic institutions.

The Digital School aims to provide digital education solutions to underprivileged students globally. It believes in using technology to empower students and promote sustainability. The initiative also supports environmental sustainability by reducing electronic waste. The campaign will continue accepting contributions and donations to benefit more students.

The Digital School, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, offers digital learning options to underserved areas. It has over 160,000 beneficiary students across 13 countries and provides educational content in multiple languages. Through initiatives like 'Donate Your Own Device', the Digital School strives to make quality education accessible to all.
