DP World Advances Sokhna Logistics Park Development with 65% Completion of First Phase
DP World has reached a significant milestone in the development of the Sokhna Logistics Park, with 65% of the first phase now complete.
The $80 million logistics hub, strategically located within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), is poised to transform Egypt’s logistics landscape and reinforce the country’s position as a key regional trade hub.
Spanning 300,000 square meters, the state-of-the-art facility will offer integrated and cost-effective supply chain solutions, leveraging DP World’s extensive global network. The park is set for full completion by June 2025 and is expected to boost efficiency, lower logistics costs, and enhance connectivity between Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.
Situated just ten kilometres from Sokhna Port, the logistics park provides direct access to Greater Cairo’s major industrial zones and key markets. Its strategic location will allow businesses to optimize operational costs and streamline cargo movement, improving overall logistics efficiency.
Designed to support industries such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, retail, automotive, and textiles, the facility will include bonded and non-bonded warehouses, office space, open cargo and container yards, and a range of logistics services. These include warehousing, freight forwarding, customs clearing, and value-added solutions such as labelling, coding, sorting, packing, and inspection.
Commenting on the progress, Ranjit Ray, Senior Vice President, Economic Zones, MENA region, DP World, stated:
“We are pleased with the progress made so far and remain focused on completing the first phase within the next few months. The facility will support a wide range of cargo for imports, exports, and transit, integrating seamlessly with DP World’s operations at Sokhna Port. This will provide cost-effective supply chain solutions for local and international businesses.”
The Sokhna Logistics Park has already attracted interest from businesses locally and internationally, including companies operating in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) seeking regional expansion. With its world-class infrastructure and strategic advantages, the facility is set to become a pivotal logistics hub in the region.
