The Day of AI Global Summit closed in Dubai with a clear message that responsible artificial intelligence education is becoming a global priority.
The event gathered ministers, policymakers and technology experts to chart practical ways to embed AI learning in classrooms and communities worldwide.
Held at Expo City Dubai, the inaugural international edition of the summit was co-hosted by DP World and MIT’s Responsible AI for Social Empowerment and Education initiative. The two-day gathering welcomed participants from more than 30 countries, along with representatives from UNESCO, the World Bank and leading tech innovators.
The summit focused on making AI education accessible to millions of teachers and students. MIT RAISE’s Day of AI programme aims to train 250,000 teachers and support six million students in the next year through free, research-based learning tools available across regions and languages.
DP World’s Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem highlighted the importance of digital skills in shaping economic opportunity and called for wider access to AI resources for young learners. MIT RAISE Director Professor Cynthia Breazeal said the summit marked a milestone in building a global community committed to empowering students to understand and shape emerging technologies.
Across keynote sessions, ministerial roundtables and hands-on workshops, delegates explored how AI learning can blend technical knowledge with creativity, ethics and critical thinking. The World Bank outlined strategies to ensure equitable access to AI-driven education, while UAE schools shared classroom experiences using MIT-developed curricula.
The summit concluded with new partnerships and initiatives aimed at expanding AI literacy, particularly in emerging markets. It forms part of DP World’s broader Global Education Platform, a 35 million dollar investment to support 1.5 million students by 2030 in STEM, green skills and technology-focused careers.
