DP World Expands into Retail and Fashion Logistics with Acquisition of Cargo Services Far East

DP World has announced the successful acquisition of Cargo Services Far East Ltd, a leading global supply chain provider based in Hong Kong.

This strategic move enhances DP World’s footprint in the logistics sector and significantly expands its global reach.

Founded in 1989, Cargo Services has established itself as a prominent player in origin services, offering comprehensive logistics solutions from the factory to the customer. With a workforce of over 2,500 employees across Greater China, Asia, Europe, South Africa, and the US, the company is renowned for its expertise in origin purchase order management, ocean freight, air freight, and warehousing. It serves diverse sectors including retail, high fashion, automotive, chemicals, healthcare, perishables, and technology, and has also ventured into specialized cruise logistics.

The acquisition bolsters DP World’s global presence, pushing its employee count to over 115,000 and expanding its operations to more than 800 locations worldwide. By the end of this year, DP World plans to operate over 200 freight forwarding offices, covering up to 95% of global trade flows.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, DP World’s Group Chairman & CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating,
