DP World is bringing global education and technology leaders to Dubai as it hosts the Day of AI Global Summit with MIT’s Responsible AI for Social Empowerment and Education initiative.
The two-day event aims to accelerate AI literacy for teachers and students around the world while highlighting the role of technology in shaping future economies.
The Summit will take place on 18 and 19 November at Expo City Dubai. It marks the first international edition of MIT RAISE’s Day of AI programme, which focuses on equipping educators and young people with the skills needed to succeed in an AI-driven future.
DP World has supported the initiative with a multi-million-dollar investment that targets making 250,000 teachers and 6 million students AI-literate within the next year. The programme forms part of the company’s broader push to expand global access to learning and innovation.
Keynotes, roundtables and expert-led sessions will feature speakers from MIT, the World Bank and education ministries across multiple regions. Professor Cynthia Breazeal, Director of MIT RAISE, and Professor Eric Klopfer from MIT’s Scheller Teacher Education Programme will lead discussions on responsible AI adoption and its potential to enhance learning and economic opportunity.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO, said the partnership reflects the UAE’s long-standing commitment to using technology as a tool for progress and inclusion.
The Summit will examine AI literacy, policy design, teacher training and curriculum development, while also exploring how AI can support education systems worldwide. Ministers from the UAE, Rwanda, Latvia, Colombia and Kazakhstan are expected to share national strategies for advancing responsible AI in schools.
The event builds on DP World’s wider education efforts, including its Global Education Platform launched last year as part of a $35 million investment to reach 1.5 million students by 2030.
