DP World is investing $2.5 billion in 2025 to expand its global logistics network, launching major infrastructure projects across India, Africa, South America, and Europe in a bid to meet surging demand for more resilient and integrated supply chain solutions.
The Dubai-based logistics giant is rolling out four large-scale developments that will significantly boost capacity and enhance connectivity across its ports and logistics infrastructure. The move strengthens DP World’s role as a key enabler of global trade, despite ongoing uncertainty in the global economy.
Chairman and Group CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said the investment reflects confidence in the long-term growth of global trade.
“We are building a unique array of assets and capabilities that help customers stay competitive, support local economies, and enable global access,”
he said.
In India, construction has begun on a $510 million terminal at Tuna Tekra in Gujarat, which will handle 2.19 million TEU annually and connect India’s interior to international markets through road and rail.
In Africa, DP World is developing two major ports: a 450,000 TEU deep-sea terminal in the Democratic Republic of Congo and a 1.2 million TEU port in Ndayane, Senegal, backed by an initial $830 million investment.
In South America, a $140 million expansion at Ecuador’s Port of Posorja will allow two post-Panamax vessels to dock simultaneously.
In Europe, the company is injecting $1 billion into the London Gateway logistics hub, adding new berths, a second rail terminal, and 400 new jobs. The project supports the UK’s ambitions as a leading trade gateway.
The expansion aligns with DP World’s strategy to offer end-to-end logistics services, backed by a growing global network of over 240 freight forwarding offices.
