DP World has officially opened the Sokhna Logistics Park in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, marking a significant step in strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional and global trade hub.

The project is in partnership with British International Investment, the UK’s development finance institution.

The inauguration was led by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and attended by senior government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development Kamel El-Wazir, and DP World Group Chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem. Representatives from global companies and the private sector were also present.

DP World is investing USD 85 million to develop the park in two phases. Phase one is now operational, creating over 150 jobs, while phase two, scheduled for the third quarter of 2026, will expand the park to nearly 300,000 square metres and generate more than 300 jobs.

Strategically located 15 minutes from Sokhna Port and 45 minutes from the New Administrative Capital, the park offers unmatched connectivity, tax and customs exemptions, and streamlined trade procedures. It provides bonded and non-bonded solutions, on-site customs inspections, and a dedicated customer portal, supporting sectors such as agriculture, electronics, textiles, automotive, and electric vehicles.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem emphasized the park’s role in building a sustainable, fully integrated logistics ecosystem, stating it will enhance trade flows, boost exports, and support economic growth.

DP World also announced construction of a USD 29 million cold storage facility in 6th of October City. The 16,000-square-metre facility will strengthen Egypt’s cold chain capabilities, supporting energy-efficient, temperature-controlled storage linked to the logistics park.

Since 2008, DP World has invested over USD 1.3 billion in Egypt to expand port capacity, modernize Sokhna Port, and integrate supply chain services, reinforcing the country’s trade infrastructure and global connectivity.
