DP World has signed a long-term agreement with Kenya’s Electronic Citizen Solutions (eCitizen) to introduce its advanced CARGOES Customs platform, aiming to modernize and streamline the country’s trade processes.

The agreement, finalized in Nairobi, will integrate the platform into Kenya’s flagship eCitizen portal, providing importers, exporters, and customs agents with a next-generation system for managing declarations and clearances.

Mahmood AlBastaki, COO of Digital Trade Solutions at DP World, said the partnership marks a major step in making trade in Kenya faster and more secure. He added that CARGOES is at the forefront of digital trade facilitation and will continue to drive efficiency across global supply chains.

The eCitizen portal is already central to Kenya’s trade ecosystem, supporting payments for services such as those provided by the Kenya Ports Authority. The integration of CARGOES will offer a modern alternative to the Kenya Revenue Authority’s existing customs system, enabling smoother transactions through digital wallets and bank transfers.

The platform will also support the Kenya Revenue Authority by providing AI-enabled risk management, enhanced inspection tools, and improved compliance monitoring. These features are expected to strengthen revenue collection and boost operational efficiency.

Evid Sibi, Director of ECS, said the partnership reflects a shared vision of simplifying complex systems into practical solutions.

“Together, we can empower KRA Customs, traders, and government agencies with a solution that drives efficiency and unlocks new opportunities for growth,”

he said.

The rollout forms part of DP World’s broader Digital Trade Solutions strategy, underscoring its commitment to supporting governments and businesses with technologies that simplify trade and strengthen supply chain connectivity.
