DP World has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with global commerce platform PayPal to launch a new digital payments initiative aimed at transforming the speed and efficiency of international trade transactions.
The collaboration seeks to cut cross-border payment processing times from days to just minutes, marking a major step toward modernizing global trade logistics. The initiative will allow merchants, shippers, exporters, importers, and online marketplaces to settle payments faster and at lower costs while ensuring greater transparency and security.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to innovation in digital trade.
“In logistics, speed and transparency mean everything. Our collaboration with PayPal aims to provide customers with faster and more reliable cross-border payment options without compromising security,”
he said.
PayPal President and CEO Alex Chriss described the initiative as a step forward for global commerce.
“Global trade works best when payments are fast, transparent, and secure. That is exactly what this partnership with DP World is delivering,”
he said.
The partnership underscores DP World’s broader strategy to build a scalable and secure marketplace for digital payments, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global hub for trade and innovation.
