DP World has announced a new $5 billion investment in India to strengthen its integrated supply chain network, bolstering the country’s trade infrastructure and global competitiveness.

The move builds on the $3 billion already invested by the logistics giant over the past three decades.

The announcement was made at India Maritime Week 2025, where DP World signed five key Memorandums of Understanding in the presence of Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal. The agreements are designed to promote collaboration across shipbuilding, green coastal shipping, port infrastructure, skill development, and advanced freight mobility.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, said the investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to India’s economic growth. He noted that the initiatives will help lower logistics costs, support manufacturing, and expand market access while aligning with national programs such as PM Gati Shakti, Sagarmala, and the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.

Among the MoUs, DP World’s subsidiary Unifeeder partnered with Sagarmala Finance Corporation to promote sustainable coastal and short-sea shipping, while Drydocks World and Cochin Shipyard Limited agreed to expand the International Ship Repair Facility in Kochi. Another collaboration between Cochin Port Authority and DP World will upgrade handling facilities at the Kochi transshipment terminal, enhancing operational efficiency.

DP World’s network in India spans over 200 locations and supports more than 24,000 jobs. The new investments are expected to unlock additional opportunities across India’s maritime ecosystem, reinforcing the nation’s role as a key player in global trade.
