Dragon Oil, a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and its trading arm to strengthen collaboration in the global energy sector.
The agreement, formalized during the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2025), aims to enhance joint efforts in oil and gas exploration, production, development, and marketing. It also sets the stage for launching future projects that support the sustainable growth of both companies.
The signing ceremony took place at Dragon Oil’s pavilion in the presence of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of ENOC Group and Dragon Oil, along with senior executives from both sides. The MoU was signed by Abdulkarim Ahmed Al Mazmi, CEO of Dragon Oil, and Rovshan Najaf, President of SOCAR.
Al Tayer said the cooperation aligns with the UAE’s leadership vision to strengthen international partnerships and promote economic growth through sustainable energy initiatives. He highlighted the strong economic relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan, particularly in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors.
Al Mazmi described the agreement as a strategic move that reflects a shared commitment to developing high-quality projects in the Caspian Sea region, which he called one of the most promising areas in the global energy landscape.
The partnership underscores Dragon Oil’s strategy to expand its regional presence and reinforce the UAE’s role as a global energy leader through cross-border collaboration and innovation.
