du has delivered the world’s first commercial U6GHz connectivity through a fully integrated, end-to-end network, using commercially available customer premises equipment on its live 5G+ network.

The telecom and digital services provider said the milestone lays the groundwork for a new generation of high-capacity wireless services across homes, businesses and industries. U6GHz offers expanded capacity to support enhanced mobile broadband, next-generation Fixed Wireless Access, cloud-based AI applications and immersive digital experiences.

du is operating across 350 MHz of contiguous spectrum in the 6775 to 7125 MHz band. The company said it has moved the technology from concept to a practical, customer-ready service, connecting with everyday equipment such as the internet routers used in homes and businesses.

Saleem Alblooshi, Chief Technology Officer at du, said the service puts U6GHz directly in the hands of customers and opens new opportunities for consumers, businesses and emerging digital applications. He also credited the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) for enabling the progress through its forward-looking spectrum strategy.

By delivering a complete network-to-customer solution, du is advancing commercial adoption of U6GHz while preparing the ground for the shift from 5G-Advanced toward future 6G networks. The achievement also supports the UAE’s vision of becoming a global leader in 6G and next-generation digital connectivity.

du said it remains committed to strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure and turning technological innovation into practical customer benefits, in line with national ambitions in AI and digital transformation.
