Dubai witnessed a spectacle of culinary achievement at the third edition of the Michelin Guide Dubai 2024, marked by jubilation and accolades.
The highlight of the evening was Chef Jason Atherton's triumphant debut with his restaurant Row on 45, securing two Michelin stars. Overwhelmed with emotion, Chef Atherton described the recognition as a lifelong dream, reflecting on his culinary journey spanning 36 years.
The gala event, hosted at One & Only One Zabeel, welcomed five new additions to Dubai’s prestigious Michelin list, solidifying its status as a global gastronomic hub. The emirate now boasts four restaurants holding two Michelin stars and an impressive fifteen establishments with one star.
Among the notable achievers, Il Ristorante, STAY by Yannick Alléno, and Trèsind Studio maintained their two-star ratings, while eleven restaurants retained their one-star accolades from the previous year. Adding to the excitement, four new restaurants were awarded one Michelin star, including the celebrated La Dame de Pic by Anne-Sophie Pic, renowned for her modern French cuisine.
In addition to star ratings, the guide recognized a total of 106 establishments across 35 cuisines, highlighting Dubai’s diverse culinary landscape. Six new restaurants were honored with Bib Gourmand status for offering high-quality dining at affordable prices, while notable recognitions like the Michelin Green Star and various service awards underscored Dubai’s commitment to culinary excellence.
The event also celebrated individual achievements, with Chef Mohamad Orfali dedicating his restaurant’s first Michelin star to Arab chefs, and Jesus Lobato Suarez receiving the Young Chef Award for his exceptional contributions at Smoked Room.
