Dubai’s healthcare sector recorded significant growth in 2025, underlining the emirate’s push to enhance quality of life and establish itself as a global hub for advanced medical services.
New figures from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) show strong expansion in both facilities and workforce, reflecting growing investor confidence and international appeal.
The number of licensed healthcare facilities rose to approximately 5,800 in 2025, up from 5,340 in 2024, an increase of over 8 percent. This includes 55 hospitals, 68 specialised clinics, 60 day-surgery centres, 70 general dental clinics, 126 general medical clinics, 222 home healthcare centres, and 101 alternative medicine centres.
Private healthcare employment also surged, with the workforce surpassing 69,400 professionals in 2025 compared to 64,100 in 2024. This growth covers physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, highlighting Dubai’s ability to attract leading medical talent from around the world.
His Excellency Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, DHA Director General, said the private sector remains a cornerstone of Dubai’s healthcare system. He pointed to rapid infrastructure development, smart solutions, and specialised services as evidence of the sector’s alignment with Dubai’s ambition to become a premier destination for advanced healthcare.
Dr. Alsheikh-Ali added that the increase in facilities and professionals demonstrates investor confidence in Dubai’s regulatory framework, incentives, and flexible legislation, positioning the emirate as an attractive hub for multinational medical institutions.
Dr. Asma Al Sharif, Acting CEO of the DHA’s Health Regulation Sector, noted that the growth in hospitals and internationally accredited facilities strengthens Dubai’s status as a preferred destination for health tourism, quality of life, and wellbeing. The expansion forms part of a broader vision to advance healthcare infrastructure and services across the emirate.
