Dubai AI Week officially begins today, marking a major step in the city’s mission to become a global AI leader.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), reaffirmed that AI is the foundation of Dubai’s future, not just a tool but core infrastructure for smarter governance, adaptive services, and forward-looking cities.

Speaking ahead of the event’s opening, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted Dubai’s readiness to lead the next wave of AI development through its robust infrastructure and future-driven vision.

“AI will shape Dubai’s future,”

he said, announcing a new standard for evaluating government entities, academia, and private sector players based on their AI integration.

Dubai AI Week, organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) under DFF’s oversight, runs from 21–25 April. The event opens with the AI Retreat at the Museum of the Future, convening 150 senior officials and AI leaders for discussions on governance, investment, infrastructure, and talent.

Running in parallel is the Dubai Assembly for AI at AREA 2071, featuring over 50 sessions and 60 AI startups, with participation from 15 countries and tech giants including Microsoft, Meta, and Google.

Other major highlights include the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, Dubai AI Festival, Machines Can See Summit, and the AI Week Hackathon. Sector-specific events in education, health, and innovation will complement the week-long programme, which brings together more than 10,000 participants from over 100 nationalities.

With strong support from global partners and UAE institutions, Dubai AI Week reinforces the city’s ambition to set global benchmarks in AI innovation, policy, and talent development.
