Dubai Airports has appointed Paralympian Jessica Smith, disability rights expert Fatma Al Jassim, and the advocacy group Team AngelWolf as strategic advisors to enhance accessibility at Dubai International Airport (DXB).
The move aims to position DXB as one of the world’s most inclusive airports.
The advisors will use their expertise and advocacy experience to help Dubai Airports identify accessibility gaps, challenge assumptions, and co-develop solutions that reflect the real experiences of People of Determination. The initiative underscores the airport operator’s commitment to designing inclusion beyond infrastructure, focusing on lived experience and community input.
“True inclusion begins with listening,”
said Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports.
“By focusing on the lived experiences of our guests, we can co-create an airport experience that moves us closer to becoming the world’s most inclusive hub.”
Jessica Smith is an award-winning disability inclusion consultant and former Australian Paralympian. Fatma Al Jassim is a leading Emirati advocate for disability rights, while Team AngelWolf, a Dubai-based family foundation, is known for achieving multiple Guinness World Records through inclusive teamwork. Together, they bring a wealth of experience to guide DXB’s accessibility initiatives.
DXB has already made strides in inclusion, becoming the first international airport globally to earn Certified Autism Center™ status from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). More than 53,000 employees have received training on hidden disabilities.
The appointment aligns with Dubai’s wider goal of becoming a disability-friendly city, following its recognition earlier this year as the first Certified Autism Destination in the Eastern Hemisphere. The collaboration marks a significant step toward creating a more inclusive future for air travel.
