Dubai Airports is gearing up for the rainy season and an anticipated surge in passenger traffic, with advanced preparations in place, according to Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports.

Al Joker emphasized the importance of close collaboration with government agencies and strategic partners, backed by data-driven strategies, to manage the expected influx efficiently.

Highlighting the robust performance of the last quarter, Al Joker attributed the increase in passenger flow to Dubai’s improved weather, holiday season, and vacation periods. The airport is poised to handle over 23.2 million passengers in this quarter, bringing the total for 2024 to an estimated 91.9 million.

Looking ahead, Al Joker projected sustained growth in passenger numbers, with forecasts of over 94 million passengers in 2025 and more than 97 million in 2026. He added that Dubai Airports is targeting the milestone of 100 million passengers by 2027 or 2028.

In a review of this year’s third-quarter performance, Dubai Airports recorded 23.7 million passengers, marking a significant rise from the 21.8 million passengers in the second quarter. The total passenger count for the first nine months of 2024 reached 68.6 million, reflecting a 6.3% year-on-year growth. Additionally, the number of flights increased by 6.4% to 327,000, further demonstrating the airport’s steady upward trajectory.

With ongoing coordination and proactive measures, Dubai Airports is well-prepared to manage the challenges of the coming months while maintaining its reputation as a global aviation hub.
