Dubai has introduced a series of economic measures aimed at strengthening the hospitality sector and supporting businesses as they navigate short-term challenges.

Announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the initiatives form part of a broader AED1 billion incentive package designed to sustain growth and enhance resilience across the emirate’s economy.

Aligned with the vision of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the measures allow hospitality businesses to defer 100 percent of sales fees on rooms, food and beverage, as well as the Tourism Dirham, for three months starting April 1, 2026. The initiative applies to hotels, hotel apartments, and holiday homes, easing financial pressures and improving liquidity.

Additional relief measures extend to the wider business community, including the deferral of fees related to premium business names, licence amendments, newspaper announcements, local services, accommodation, waste management, and service improvements. These apply to both new licences and renewals for a three-month period, with a review scheduled at its conclusion.

Officials highlighted the role of public and private sector collaboration in shaping the measures. Helal Saeed Almarri noted that Dubai’s economic agility has enabled swift policy responses that support growth and resilience.

Issam Kazim added that the incentives reflect ongoing engagement with industry stakeholders, while Ahmad Khalifa AlQaizi AlFalasi emphasised the importance of providing businesses with flexibility to maintain long-term sustainability.

The broader package also includes extended customs data grace periods and streamlined residency permit processes, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for trade and tourism.
