More than 200 outstanding educators across Dubai have been granted Golden Visas under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

The initiative, first announced by Sheikh Hamdan on World Teachers’ Day last year, recognises the vital role of teachers and academics in shaping Dubai’s knowledge-driven future. In his statement, Sheikh Hamdan praised educators as “the ones who light the way forward,” highlighting their influence in nurturing talent, building character, and strengthening Dubai’s global stature.

Of 435 applications received in the first round, 223 educators were selected for the prestigious residency — representing 51% of total applicants. Recipients include 157 from schools, 60 from universities, and six from early childhood centres. The selection process evaluated professional achievements, community impact, and peer recognition, while intentionally excluding demographic factors to ensure fairness and inclusivity.

Aisha Miran, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), said the initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to celebrating and empowering the teaching profession.

“Teachers are at the heart of every successful education system,”

she noted. “The Golden Visa is part of our ongoing efforts to elevate educators and make teaching a more attractive and rewarding career.”

The programme supports the goals of the Education 33 (E33) Strategy, which aims to attract top global talent and position Dubai as a leading hub for education excellence. Applications for the second round of Golden Visas will open from 15th October to 15th December 2025 for educators in private early childhood centres, schools, and international higher education institutions.
