Dubai AI Week kicked off today, drawing global innovators, experts, and investors to explore long-term growth in artificial intelligence and position the emirate as a global tech leader.
Running until April 25, the event is hosted by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with Digital Dubai and Dubai Chamber.
Saeed Al Falasi, Director of the Centre, emphasized the importance of making AI accessible to all—from students and individuals to startups and large enterprises.
“AI is no longer the future – it is our present,”
he said, highlighting Dubai’s role as a launchpad for AI-driven collaboration.
More than 26 startups from 15 countries are participating, which Al Falasi described as a major boost to Dubai’s innovation ecosystem. These companies will spend the week exploring the local business landscape and forming strategic partnerships that could lead to long-term establishment in the region.
The event also saw the launch of the "Al Ain" initiative by Dubai Media Academy, a bold step to preserve Arabic language and culture in the AI era. Muna Bu Samra, Director of the Academy, said the initiative emerged after six months of studies and aims to counter the decline in language quality in media caused by AI.
Al Ain will develop specialised Arabic language tools and training models, with contributions from developers across Egypt, Jordan, the GCC, and beyond. Official programme rollouts begin in May.
The initiative reflects Dubai’s broader ambition: to lead not just in AI adoption, but in shaping how technology can reinforce cultural identity and open new creative avenues for Arab talent.
