Dubai Business Events (DBE), the city’s official convention bureau and part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, has been honoured with the Association Development Award at the ICCA Middle East Summit in Bahrain.
The award, presented by Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism Fatima Bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, recognized DBE’s role in empowering associations and driving collaboration, knowledge exchange, and legacy creation in the regional business events sector. The recognition highlights Dubai’s alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to enhance the emirate’s global competitiveness.
The summit, hosted at Exhibition World Bahrain, brought together association leaders, industry stakeholders, and regional destinations to explore strategies for building a resilient and sustainable meetings industry.
DBE also joined a panel alongside Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan to discuss the future of destination leadership, with a focus on innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said the award reflects Dubai’s strategic vision to position itself as a leading hub for knowledge and innovation.
Dubai’s participation further underscores its commitment to shaping the future of business events through sustainability, AI adoption, smart tourism, and legacy-driven strategies.
