The inaugural international edition of the Dubai Business Forum – China, organized by Dubai Chambers in Beijing on Wednesday, showcased the burgeoning opportunities for the Chinese business community in Dubai, driven by the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).

The forum, held under the theme "China, Dubai and Beyond: Igniting Global Trade and Investment," attracted 800 influential Chinese business leaders and investors. It emphasized Dubai's thriving economy and competitive advantages while outlining key initiatives and projects that present substantial investment opportunities.

In his opening remarks, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the D33 as a strategic blueprint to enhance Dubai's global competitiveness and double its economy within the next decade.

"Our integrated roadmap positions Dubai to achieve its goals and fosters a favorable investment environment through strong public-private sector partnerships,"

he said.

Lootah noted that as of mid-2024, around 5,400 Chinese companies are registered with Dubai Chamber, and Chinese foreign direct investment in Dubai has reached AED19.85 billion from 2015 to 2023.

The forum included 18 sessions on diverse topics such as trade and logistics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), foreign direct investment (FDI), renewable energy, and healthcare. Key discussions focused on Dubai's role as a global hub for innovation and the integration of the D33 with China's development plans.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dubai Chambers and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Subcouncil (CCPIT Beijing). This agreement aims to boost trade relations, facilitate business events, and support Chinese investment in Dubai.

Sessions also explored emerging opportunities in e-commerce, with a focus on Dubai’s strategic location and logistics infrastructure. Panels on AI and sustainability highlighted Dubai's commitment to advanced technologies and green business practices, while discussions on healthcare emphasized Dubai’s advancements in medical data analysis and telehealth services.

The forum underscored the mutual benefits of deepening Dubai-China business ties and showcased Dubai's unique advantages, particularly its free zones, in attracting global investment.
