Dubai Cares has strengthened its position as a leading global philanthropic organisation after reaching 117 million people in 60 developing countries and disbursing AED1.27 billion ($346 million) in grants since its establishment in 2007.
The Dubai-based organisation reported another year of significant progress in 2025, advancing education, skilling, and humanitarian interventions through 264 programmes, 48 advocacy initiatives, and 40 research programmes delivered in partnership with 143 organisations worldwide.
Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer and Vice-Chairman, said the organisation was founded under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at a time when the global education crisis had yet to receive widespread international attention. He noted that early recognition of the scale of the challenge reflected visionary leadership and a commitment to long-term, systemic change.
By the end of 2025, Dubai Cares had supported school-based deworming for more than 61.7 million children, provided clean water and sanitation access to 4.48 million, and delivered nutritious meals to nearly five million schoolchildren. More than five million teachers were trained, while close to 788,500 young people received vocational and critical skills training.
The organisation also ensured continued access to education for 4.62 million children and youth affected by emergencies and protracted crises, including humanitarian interventions in Lebanon and Gaza that reached more than 760,000 people in 2025.
Looking ahead to its 20th anniversary in 2027, Dubai Cares said it remains focused on advancing large-scale, long-term education outcomes aligned with UAE national priorities and the UAE Foreign Aid Strategy, reinforcing education as a cornerstone of sustainable development and international cooperation.
