Dubai Chamber of Commerce strengthens international outreach with successful trade mission to Angola, fostering new business opportunities across sectors.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce, part of the umbrella organisation Dubai Chambers, has successfully facilitated 252 bilateral meetings between Dubai-based and Angolan companies in Luanda, marking a productive start to its trade mission to Angola and Mozambique under the ‘New Horizons’ initiative. The mission aims to support Dubai businesses in expanding into emerging global markets.
The Luanda visit included a delegation of 20 private sector companies from Dubai spanning agriculture, energy, construction, IT, logistics, real estate, and more. As part of the visit, the chamber hosted a major business forum, ‘Doing Business with Angola’, in collaboration with key public and private sector partners from both nations.
The forum attracted 416 participants, featuring keynote addresses from top officials including representatives of Angola’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the UAE’s Ambassador to Angola. Discussions centered on enhancing bilateral trade, understanding Angola’s economic landscape, and uncovering strategic sectors for collaboration.
H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the chamber’s commitment to fostering global trade ties:
“This mission opens new doors for Dubai’s business community in vital markets like Angola, boosting our competitiveness and non-oil trade growth.”
Dubai-Angola non-oil trade hit AED 7.8 billion in 2024, a 3.3% increase from the previous year. Currently, 72 Angolan firms are active members of the Dubai Chamber.
Key opportunities identified include exports like textiles, pharmaceuticals, and electronics, and investments in Angola’s oil and gas, healthcare, marine tech, and infrastructure sectors—underscoring Dubai’s strategic push into high-potential African markets.
