The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has unveiled the agenda for Sustainability Week 2024, scheduled from October 7 to 11.

This year’s five-day event will emphasize the pivotal role of digitization and artificial intelligence (AI) in advancing sustainable business practices.

Organized annually by the chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business, Sustainability Week 2024 aims to explore innovative strategies that enhance the contribution of advanced technologies to sustainability initiatives. With a focus on AI, the event seeks to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices within the private sector.

Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, expressed the chamber's commitment to empowering the private sector in sustainable development.

"This year’s Sustainability Week will examine the latest trends, best practices, and innovative approaches, focusing on leveraging advanced technologies and AI to develop sustainability solutions across all sectors,”

she stated.

The programme kicks off with a seminar on the first day, highlighting the impact of AI and digital technologies on sustainability.

Ahmad Bin Byat, Founding Chairman and CEO of Zaina Investments, will deliver the keynote address. The day will also include a panel discussion featuring experts on the implications of digital solutions and AI in achieving sustainable development goals, alongside sessions on best practices in supply chain efficiency and recycling enhancement through innovative technologies.

Additionally, a special forum dedicated to developing digital strategies for the circular economy will include an interactive simulation and discussions on leveraging AI, the Internet of Things, and big data analytics to boost resource efficiency and minimize waste.

Sustainability Week 2024 will also host the 12th edition of the Arabia CSR and Sustainability Forum, themed 'Sustainable Prosperity: Reorienting for a Balanced Future,' under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy.
