Dubai Chamber of Commerce has wrapped up a successful trade mission to Mozambique, facilitating 356 business-to-business meetings aimed at expanding trade and investment opportunities.

The mission, held in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Maputo and various Mozambican organizations, fostered new partnerships between companies from both regions.

The highlight of the mission was the ‘Doing Business with Mozambique’ forum, attended by 349 participants, including senior officials and business leaders. Keynote speakers included Fredson Bacar, Tourism Secretary of Mozambique, and Álvaro Massingue, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Mozambique. The event provided a platform for exploring cooperation and business opportunities across sectors.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the mission’s role in enhancing the global reach of Dubai-based companies, particularly in emerging markets like Mozambique. He noted that this initiative is vital to boosting Dubai's trade and competitiveness on the global stage.

The mission follows a significant rise in Dubai’s non-oil trade with Mozambique, which increased by 47%, from AED 3.1 billion in 2023 to AED 4.6 billion in 2024. As of Q1 2025, 89 Mozambican businesses were registered with Dubai Chamber of Commerce, reflecting the growing economic ties between the two regions.

The delegation from Dubai included 19 companies across sectors such as electronics, energy, textiles, and retail, underscoring the diverse potential for cooperation. Key sectors identified for collaboration include agribusiness, tourism, renewable energy, and wood processing, with Dubai offering strong business advantages for Mozambican companies.
