Dubai Chamber of Commerce Concludes Successful Sustainability Week 2024
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has wrapped up its annual Sustainability Week 2024, drawing participation from 526 representatives of the business community.
Held from October 7 to 11, this year’s initiative, organized by the chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business, focused on the integration of digitization and artificial intelligence (AI) in fostering sustainable business practices.
A highlight of the week was the launch of a digital training platform designed to equip local businesses with vital knowledge in sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. This innovative platform provides access to premium online courses featuring certified modules, video content, and virtual sessions led by expert trainers, emphasizing the role of AI and digital solutions in enhancing sustainability efforts.
During Sustainability Week, 27 companies were recognized with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Label for their commitment to sustainable practices. The packed calendar included a seminar discussing the impact of digital technologies on sustainability, covering the importance of improving supply chain efficiency and innovative recycling strategies.
Additionally, a special forum explored developing digital strategies for a circular economy, featuring interactive simulations and discussions on leveraging AI, the Internet of Things, and big data analytics to boost resource efficiency and reduce waste.
The week also hosted the 12th edition of the Arabia CSR and Sustainability Forum, organized by the Arabia CSR Network under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy, themed “Sustainable Prosperity: Reorienting for a Balanced Future.” This year’s Sustainability Week underscored the Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s commitment to advancing sustainable business practices in the region.
