Dubai Chamber of Commerce has launched the Peruvian Business Council in a move aimed at strengthening trade and investment links between Dubai and Peru.

The announcement was made during the council’s inaugural annual general meeting, held at the chamber’s headquarters in the presence of H.E. Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade.

The new council is the latest addition to the 61 country-specific Business Councils operating under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce umbrella. It is tasked with promoting bilateral cooperation across various sectors and supporting the growth of Peruvian businesses in Dubai.

Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, said the council reflects the chamber’s ongoing efforts to enhance global trade partnerships and attract international investment to Dubai’s non-oil economy.

The meeting highlighted the council’s plans for the year, including a programme of events and strategies to deepen collaboration between business communities in both regions. The initiative also underscores Dubai’s rising appeal as a strategic hub for Latin American markets.

In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Peru surged to over AED 8.3 billion, marking a 91% year-on-year increase. As of Q1 2025, 23 Peruvian companies were registered as active members of the chamber, signaling strong momentum in bilateral business engagement.

The Peruvian Business Council is expected to play a key role in fostering long-term economic partnerships and facilitating access to new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
