The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, part of Dubai Chambers, has announced the launch of the Georgian Business Council, marking a significant milestone in fostering economic ties between Dubai and Georgia.
This initiative aims to enhance joint opportunities between the private sectors of both regions, supporting the growth of bilateral trade and investment.
Reflecting Dubai's increasing appeal to Georgian investors, non-oil bilateral trade between the two regions surged by 8.5% last year, reaching AED 1.76 billion. Additionally, the number of active Georgian companies registered with the Dubai Chamber reached 89 by the end of the first half of 2024.
At the inaugural annual general meeting, council members discussed strategies to enhance cooperation, organize bilateral business events, and facilitate knowledge exchange.
Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, expressed pride in the council's establishment, emphasizing its potential to strengthen bilateral relations by creating a robust networking and collaboration ecosystem.
The Georgian Business Council aims to streamline business operations for Georgian companies in Dubai, acting as a voice for the community and advocating for their sustainable success in the emirate. Country-specific Business Councils play a crucial role in representing diverse nationalities of investors, promoting bilateral trade, and fostering impactful partnerships.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce is committed to expanding the number of Business Councils to better represent the various nationalities operating within the emirate. This initiative is designed to unify the efforts of member companies in accessing global markets and achieving common goals.
